A Little Colour if you Please (and a lot of other work)

As we come to the end of this chapter in the journey we see from the above picture that the Wendling house will soon be completed.  The Hardie Plank is almost covering 3 of the 4 sides and soon all 4 will be covered.

As well, the electricians have been working at putting up the light fixtures.

The carpets and hard wood floor will soon be laid towards the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

One of the most interesting rooms in the Wendling house hold is the ensuite bathroom to the Master bedroom.  As you can see it is painted a bright red with a wood vanity.

The floor, shower and around the bath tub have a unique tile - a type of natural stone which will give the walls and floor some definition and unique feel.

As well, the staircase from the 1st to 2nd floor are freestanding stairs, pictured above.

The metal bars are quite stunning and accent the stain as well as the brown walls on the house.  One of the most difficult things one can do when building a house is to take the different components of a house - paint, stairs, tile, carpet - and put them together.  Luckily we had lots of help in putting these ideas together.  From Lucchetta Homes we had lots of support from Ed, Rob and their staff.  As well, we took lots of pictures and ask friends and family what they liked.

Not only is being done inside but there is lots going on outside with electricity, fascia, placing of columns and much more.

One of the neatest things to watch is what the finishing carpenter has been doing with the 3 window seats in the house and the work being done in the closets.

Still, there is much to be done.  Corners like this in the house look all but finished but there is much to do.  But the long wait is almost over and soon (hopefully very soon) the Wendling's will be moving in.
